1992 - Matthias Kämper enters the family-run company
Matthias Kämper completes a three-year commercial training at Müller & Sohn and complements it with stays abroad in the UK and the USA. Later he studies business administration at the business school in Düsseldorf and graduates with an MBA.
Between 1987 and 2007, the quantity of the annual turnover of aluminium implemented is expanded further. In order to be able to process these quantities, Müller & Sohn has to invest in the latest, fully automatic and larger hydraulic press in 1996. -

In 2005, Matthias Kämper becomes a shareholder and takes over 24.9 % of the company’s shares from his father. In the same year, a company consultancy is commissioned with the analysis of structures and processes. As a result of the analysis, a programe to increase profitability is developed which is implemented in conjunction with the management.
The results included a mission statement in binding form, restructuring into a GmbH & Co.KG, rebuilding the administration building - and also establishing the staff newsletter, MS News. -

2007 is a record year for Müller & Sohn with sales of 69,500 tonnes and a turnover of €117.1 million. Just a year later, the global financial crisis results in a long-term market crash from which Müller & Sohn are not spared.
The reason why Müller & Sohn manages to withstand this crisis without suffering damage and above all any loss of jobs or employees is thanks to the prescient work by the management and the commercial department, who by securing long-term contracts ensured that production could continue unabated. -
Müller & Sohn makes the best of the crisis and acquires as an investment property the neighbouring plot of land at 17 Harkortstraße that has become available with the termination of a business. In 2011, 20 Harkortstraße is added so that any future expansion will not require moving the company premises. Today Müller & Sohn has 40,000 m² available. -
The interim balance after 100 years of dealing in metal paints a picture of which the family can be proud. Müller & Sohn employs 35 people today, has a modern production area and logistics and is one of the leading quality producers in the sector. Good reasons to be optimistic for the next 100 years of business. -
